Hello y'all! There are a lot of horse breeds on Jorvik today and when I'm out for a ride, I barely see any rider with the older horse breeds. Today there are 251 different horses that you could buy and I decided to make a list of the 5 breeds I think every SSO player should own. The list contains both older and newer horses and as of today you could still get them all. 1: Shire
The Shire is my favorite horse breed in the entire game. I only have 3 but the one in the picture is my absolute favorite horse. Many may say that the Shires are big and clumpy, but I think they look like some big friendly teddy bears. I hope the Shires don't get pushed aside more now when the Clydesdales are here. 2: Icelandic Horse
The Icelandic horses come in a lot of different colors and most specially their own gait called Tölt. I think that every player should have at least one Icelandic so they can try out Tölt and the race for the breed.
3: Selle Français
This old horse breed came out early in the game, as seen by the older model. The Selle Français breed doesn't have that many colors but the ones that they have are really pretty. This horse in particular is great in photos.
4: Morgan
I don’t know how many Morgans I own but I’m sure I don't own them all. This horse breed is really fun to race, it’s fast and their gaits make them look really quick. They come in a lot of colors, 14 to be exact, and they come in both the older model and the newer model. The Morgans look really cute and almost like they are out for some friendly trouble-making.
5: American Paint Horse, the old version
There is something about the older model that brings me back to simpler times. They may not look super real but they have a special bond to the player. With the newer models, in my opinion, it feels like people are just buying the horses because they are new or trending. Sure, the older models don't look as fancy and realistic as the newer ones but the old models feel like Star Stable Online. That's why I love the older versions of the American Paint Horse so much. They have cool colors and their coats aren't something that you see in the newer horses. I know that there are a lot of people that hate the older version but I believe that the older model are the true Star Stable Online horses. This list is not meant to followed, it's just my opinions and hopes that we in SSO would start using our older breeds a bit more. Give them some fresh air instead of letting them be in the stable or the pasture. I would love to hear your thoughts about this and your suggestions on what breeds you would like to see more.
